Mountain Cookin' with Missy's Mommy's Blackberry Dumplins -- a delicious, sweet dessert treat for the entire family.
Kitchenware
- 1 Bowl - Large
- 1 Spoon or spatula
Ingredients

2 lbs Frozen blackberries (or any berries)

2 c sugar
-
1/2 stick unsalted butter (room temperature)

Water (Enough to cover the berries, with 2 inches of water above the berries)

2 c self-rising flour

1/3 c melted unsalted butter

Whole Milk - Enough to make a dough
Dumplings
Directions
Put berries, water, sugar and butter in a heavy saucepan over med heat.
Cook and stir gently till boiling. (2 lbs Frozen blackberries, 2 c sugar, Water, 1/2 stick unsalted butter.)
In a bowl make a well, pour butter in and drizzle milk in.
Stir in enough milk until dough is sticky, not too wet. (1/3 c melted unsalted butter, Enough whole milk to make a dough.)
Sprinkle flour on the dough, flour your hands, pinch up the dough and roll into 2-inch balls.
Then, drop dumplings into the boiling berries. Don’t stir. (2 c self-rising flour)
Make room for the dumplings by moving them with a spoon. Reduce heat to low.
Cover and let simmer for about 10 min. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream!
