Mountain Cookin' with Missy's Garlic Cheddar Biscuits -- a delightful treat with any meal.
Kitchenware
- 1 Bowl - Large
- 1 Buttered baking dish or skillet
- 1 Basting Brush
Ingredients

2½ c self-rising flour

¼ c cold unsalted butter

¾ c buttermilk (may need to add more)

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese

¼ c melted salted butter

¼ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp parsley
Topping
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Combine flour and butter. Cut butter into the flour till pea sized. (2½ c self-rising flour, ¼ c cold unsalted butter)
Mix in cheese and garlic powder. (1 c shredded sharp cheddar cheese, ¼ tsp garlic powder)
Add enough buttermilk to make a sticky dough. (¾ c buttermilk)
Sprinkle some flour on the dough and flour your hands. (2½ c self-rising flour)
Pinch up enough dough and gently form into 2-inch round biscuits. Tuck the seams with your thumbs, but don’t overwork the dough.
Place biscuits on a buttered baking dish or skillet. Bake for about 20-25 min or till browned.
Remove from the oven and brush immediately with the garlic butter mixture. (1/2 tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp parsley, ¼ c melted salted butter)
